A little about me: My start as an editor is as unorthodox as they come. In fact it sort of happened by accident. I joined the Twitter writing community back in late 2018 with the intention of connecting with authors while I pursued a second literary agent after parting ways with my first. As a way to refresh my querying skills, I started offering to critique other authors’ query letters. My inbox filled up fast, but I was shocked when most were so happy with the feedback they asked if they could send a tip.

Then the queries kept on coming, and some authors started asking if they could include sample pages. To slow the flood of work, I decided to average out the tips and put a small price on the critiques. Still, the requests piled up, until one day an author requested a quote to critique his full manuscript.

Thus my editing business was born. Fast forward five years and I’ve seen countless clients increase their rates of full requests, dozens sign with literary agents, and a handful land book deals. I never knew how much I would love this job until it fell into my lap.

As a full-time developmental editor, I love connecting with authors and other publishing professionals, especially literary agents who are on the hunt for great manuscripts. I have a growing list of fantastic but still-unrepresented authors across multiple genres and love making recommendations.

If you’re a regular reader of my blog and want to contribute to its continued growth, you can donate here. I still get requests for free query critiques to this day, many of which come from authors who live in countries with steep exchange rates. Any donations received will go towards providing free critiques to authors who can’t afford it.
