I Deactivated My Twitter Account Last Night

I deactivated my Twitter account last night, and then I woke up at 4:30am and logged back on to find my followers list at zero. But when I looked up a handful of people it showed they’re still following me. I hope this means the app just needs to update and my following will be restored. Otherwise this is pretty devastating.

I guess this is an appropriate opportunity to admit that I’m not having a very good time lately. I can’t go into details but let’s just say 2018 was a year of really bad luck, loneliness, uncertainty, and thick, soupy, hard-to-navigate depression.

I apologize for my erratic behavior, my reactionary nature, my loudness, and anything else you might find annoying.

I may be loud on Twitter but in real life I’m quiet as a mouse. It’s hard not to be when no one wants to talk to you.

With love,

Tory

  1. Twitter is showing you have your followers back (that’s how I found this link).
It’s not perfect and isn’t 100% a substitute for real human contact, but just know we (your Twitter followers) are here if you need us. 🙂

  3. I’ve lived with depression for many years now, and while it isn’t easy, it is possible to learn mastery. It takes the right kind of support, medication (there will be a certain amount of “prescription dance” involved) and most important of all, determination on your part to conquer it and live the life you want.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step, as the old saying goes. You have to choose to make that first step, and there are many ways to find support if you want it.

Good luck out there, Tory. Stay strong.
