I think I’m enjoying this blog thing. Tweeting is fun, but as a writer it kind of eats away at my soul. Like a caterpillar munching on a leaf, one tiny bite at a time. Writing in 280 characters or fewer makes me feel like a caged animal, and this blog feels like relative freedom. Maybe in all my thrashing and kicking I’ve finally broken loose from my tweet addiction.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Twitter, and I’ll still be tweeting morning, day, and night, but I think I’m going to use this blog pretty frequently. I’ve got a lot to say about this ol’ publishing industry–good and bad, though I promise never ugly–and it would just take too long to tweet my way through it.
I’m a long-form creature, and if you clicked on my blog and read this far I imagine you’re a long-form creature too. (tips hat gif)
If you’re out there blogging in this tweet storm, I’d love to see you blog more often. I’d love to see you pin the link to your day’s post on your profile. I’d love to see more short fiction tossed out for all to read. Maybe I need to make myself a list of active bloggers.
Anyway, that’s all for the moment. Good morning, or whatever time is for you, wherever you are.
With love,
Tory
